RED TIDE RISING--VOICES (VANITY MUSIC GROUP)
This Denver band has a lot to say and they aren’t afraid to say it in their EP VOICES. The 5 song album starts off with WRITING ON THE WALL, it is dark and hits you at home. MATTHEW WHITEMAN’S vocals are strong and bring authority to the music. WRITING ON THE WALL talks about pursuing your goals and not letting anything getting in your way, letting the light shine on where you need to go. YOU’RE NOTHING (BUT SHIT) is hard hitting and I can see all the guys forming a mosh pit to dance along with this song. This song goes into more detail, talking about someone who thinks they are better then you, but is truly not, WHITEMAN really has something to say. The drumming from MATT GUERIN has pressure to it and is accompanied by rhythmic guitars for the whole album. SUFFOCATE brings it up a notch, dark and edgy and bringing in a serious note about addiction. Their final song NEW BREED shows off the guitar styling of both ANDREW WHITEMAN and MICHAEL LEBOIS (on bass), this song gives back to fans and encourages them to stand on their own two feet and be who they are, don’t trust everyone that you come in contact with.
