BURY YOUR DEAD has been local favorites of mine for some time now. I was always up on the release dates of new records and also was buying the band’s music day it came out but for some reason I had never ever seem them live. Which is some crazy shit when I think back to it. So, when I heard the American hardcore band was playing and headlining the Tattoo-fest in Providence, RI on March 25th I was going to make it my quest to at least catch the band in a live atmosphere and let me tell you I was not disappointed at all.
It was an all-day affair at the Fest although I didn’t get to the party till later on in the evening so I missed some local acts (sorry kids, I’m sure I will see you sooner than later) but when BURY YOUR DEAD hit the stage my third wind kicked in and I was wide eyed and bushy tailed. The energy the guys give off onstage brought out the energy in the crowd which then just led the band into a more powerful, high energy tone and well the night was pretty damn special. They played an array of tracks but my favorite was when they went into TOP GUN, they chatted with the crowd and even gave the Providence music scene some major love with the unity of local bands and community. For a small State I must say even back in the day Providence local scene always was a close knit family.
All n all I was an idiot for so many years not to see BURY YOUR DEAD and if you guys are in the area of the bands next few stops really do go check them out cause If you have seen them through the years you know how amazing they can be and if you haven’t seen them then you need to get your asses out to a show near you guys they are worth every penny of a ticket price. This show just showcased a tight stitched band and was proud to call them Local hero’s in my eyes.
I was able to catch some highlights of the show at Fete Music hall that night which is down below. A huge shout out to Mat for the hookup for this evening and thank you for fronting a humble and kick ass band.
